Blanchard Community Library Shares Update on Reopening Timeline

SANTA PAULA, Calif. — The reopening of the Blanchard Community Library has been delayed, with the facility now expected to open the week of August 18. The exact date will be confirmed once final work on the Library’s critical HVAC improvement project is complete.

“While we are just as eager as our patrons to open the doors, our top priority remains the safety and comfort of everyone who visits or works in the library,” said Library Director Justin Formanek. “Delays are never easy, but we believe it’s most important to ensure everything is ready before we invite the community back inside.”

The delay is due in part to supply chain challenges affecting the final stages of the project. Upon completion, staff will ensure the facility is properly arranged and equipped for reopening to the public.

In the meantime, the Library continues to offer curbside pickup of materials, and the Summer Reading program has been extended to August 30 so readers of all ages can keep earning prizes and participating through the end of the month.

“We truly appreciate the patience and understanding of the community,” Formanek added. “We look forward to opening our doors as soon as we can.”
