Try our NEW Black Gold Zip Books Program!

The Black Gold Zip Books Program is supported by funding provided through the California Library Services Act (CLSA). Due to limited funding compared to traditional Zip Books grants, some program limitations have changed.

Through the program, you can request a title that is not currently in our collection and have Amazon send the book directly to your home. Once you’ve finished reading it, simply return the book to the library.

Who Can Request a Book?

To request a title, you must:

Be a current library patron
Have no outstanding fines
Have a valid email address on your library account

Don’t have a library card? No problem! You can apply for a library card with a valid photo ID and proof of address. Once your card is issued, you can make a Zip Books request that same day.

Policies

Up to ONE Zip Book request may be made per patron per month.
Only ONE request will be accepted at a time. Additional requests will be ignored.
Zip Books will be added to your Blanchard Community Library card account and will follow normal circulation rules. (3 weeks + 3 renewals, unless requested by another patron). If you have a Black Gold Library card, your home library must be set to Blanchard for your request to be filled at our library.
Requests are limited to currently released titles not currently owned by the Blanchard Community Library.
Requests for books (regular print or large type) are limited to those available for under $50 pre-tax.
Requests for audiobooks and any foreign-language items (print included) are limited to those available for under $75 pre-tax.
Textbooks, Study Guides, and Test Preparation materials will be considered based on their suitability for the Blanchard Community Library’s collection.
The fulfillment is handled by Amazon, please check their site beforehand to make sure the item is available.
Please note that orders are placed at least once a week; while our goal is to get requested materials shipped as quickly as possible, we cannot guarantee delivery dates.
Patrons are responsible for lost or damaged items, or items not returned by June 30, 2027.
